SPARC has launched the Neuromod Prize, a $9.8 million competition to accelerate the development of targeted neuromodulation therapies. The first phase calls on scientists, engineers, and clinicians to submit novel concepts and plans for development. The concept clearance for stage two of the SPARC program was presented and approved at the virtual Council of Councils meeting on January 29, 2021.
The SPARC program collected input via a Request for Information (RFI: NOT-RM-20-025) and a virtual 2-day meeting with investigators, potential partners, and other subject matter experts on high-impact collaborative goals to build on SPARC's progress to date.
September 2-3, 2020
The SPARC program partnered with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) to convene a workshop that brought together experts in neuroscience and cardiopulmonary disorders to discuss the latest advances, cutting-edge approaches, and methodologies to identify the highest priority research gaps and opportunities to advance the field.

The workshop brought together disparate research communities to assess 1) the current status of functional and anatomical mapping of peripheral innervation in organs and 2) the opportunities for additional knowledge and technologies that would be foundational for understanding neuronal control of organ system function.
