Brief description of research areas being targeted by the Institution for the EIA initiative (with specific websites, if available):
Dartmouth is home to world-class scholars in the Faculty of Arts & Sciences, the Thayer School of Engineering, and the Geisel School of Medicine and the affiliated Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Investigators at Dartmouth engage in a broad spectrum of research activities that are supported by the National Institutes of Health and would welcome applicants in any of those areas.
Materials that prospective EIA candidates need to submit:
Interested candidates are required to submit three documents. 1. A cover letter with their name, address and contact information, project title and proposed program at Dartmouth with which they would best align; 2. A complete and up to date curriculum vitae; 3. A description of the proposed project including content related to the NIH required components of Overall impact, Significance, Investigators, Innovation, Approach, and Environment. This description should not exceed five pages. Interested candidates are encouraged to consult with relevant faculty at Dartmouth in preparing the description of the proposed project.
Description of process for prospective EIA candidates (if available):
The internal selection process will be coordinated by the Office of the Provost at Dartmouth College. Applications will be reviewed and selected based upon criteria established by NIH, and their alignment to the specific strategic goals of an appropriate program at Dartmouth. The deadline for receipt of applications at Dartmouth is November 20, 2012. The appropriate division within Dartmouth will aid the selected candidate in completing the full application package for submission to NIH by January 30, 2013.
