KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT CENTER (KMC)
The KMC is aimed at developing an integrated informatics solution that encompasses data accrual, analysis, data-driven prioritizations, and abstraction/summarization. It will help to guide the prioritization of and identify gaps in knowledge of proteins defined as druggable. The KMC is intended to enable prioritization for annotation of proteins identified by IDG and subsequent deeper annotation of proteins for which an indication of function and disease relevance is determined. A complementary component of this initiative will support the development of a web portal to enable efficient and facile query and browsing tools that will bring together multiple data-sources and information in an integrated manner so that the community-at-large can utilize existing tools and data as well as those generated by IDG.
The second IDG initiative will focus on the adaptation and development of scalable assays that can be applied to studies to Illuminate the Druggable Genome. It is intended to encourage transformative technologies that enable swift, scalable, cost-effective, and robust interrogation of protein families. Early outcomes of these initiatives will guide research and subsequent prioritization of the initial group of poorly or unannotated proteins.
